My son started the car with the wipers on and frozen to the windshield. He said he heard a "click" and now the windshield wipers do not work. The wiper motor runs, but the wipers do not move. I assume it is a problem with the linkage, but nothing is visible. Is this a problem that will need to be fixed from the inside or can it be fixed from the engine compartment?

Thank You

Most likely the latch fell off on the gear. Unscrew your windshield wipers and remove them. Remove the plastic and rubber cover from the whole outside dash. Check both latches to make sure the bar is on the pin. If one of them is off the pin then you will need to put it back on and put a new plastic nut on it. The plastic thing is round on one side and open on the other. It keeps the wiper rod from falling off the pin. This toyota part is kind of hard to find sometimes so you might have to use one that is for a honda.
