Hi I have a 92 toyota 4runner V6 3.0 4x4 with about a 163 thousand on it recently bought and I have little backround info ont the vhehicle other than most of the miles were highway miles goin to and from michigan from buffalo Ny I noticed when I first got the truck on the road that when I were to get on it that the rpms would kick up while I acellerated very slowly I thought that with the miles on the car that the cluth plates were probablly slipping. Later after puting about 100 miles on it the clutch petal would fade I know the truck has a hydrualic operated clutch and soon realized that my slave cylinder was leaking is it possible that after I install the new cylinder that the clutch will stop sliping due to the fact that the seal in the cylinder was shot and maybe the plates wernt fully ingaged on the fly wheel thus resulting in the clutch plates slipping when I were to get on it?

The slave sylinder puts pressure to the pressure plate to make it so the vehicle can be shifted, with it leaking you should have been finding it harder to put in gear. To me it sound like the pressure plate or the clutch disc is going bad.
