Check Light

My Toyota Prerunner, 4 door, 94,000 miles, 4 cylinder had the check light come on 6 months ago and the code said that I needed to change my EGR valve. So I changed that valve but just over a month the light keep coming on than off a day or two later and it was still saying the code for the EGR valve. What could be the problem?

Did you change the vacuum switching solenoid this is the one that provides vacuum to the EGR
