Back up lights not working

2000 4-runner with 5 speed manual transmission and both back-up lights are not working. The bulbs are good. I am not getting any voltage at the socket. I can not find a specific fuse bor the back-up lights but all fuses have voltage on both sides so are not open. There is a back-up light sensor on the transmission which does not seem to have voltage there.

1) does anybody have any experience with this problem?
2) it looks like the sensor could be easily replaced but I am not sure if transmission oil will come out when I remove it (there is nothing about it in the repair manual)

At the drivers side junction block on lower left of dash, check Gauge fuse 10amp.

The black and yellow wire should have power at all times as long the 10amp fuse is good at the transmission back-up switch

Also at the red and yellow at the back up light switch at transmission should have power when key is in On and gear shift is at reverse.

No power at red/yel and power black/yellow the the switch is bad.

No power at black/yellow track it back to the ignition switch thru the 10amp fuse

I ended up replacing the switch on the side of the transmission. When it is pushed in it is supposed to have continuity closing the circuit which mine did not.

Thanks for the help.
