I have a problem with my A/C in a 2000 4Runner Ltd. Long story short, I think the A/C dash switch has gone out (I say this because if I hit the defrost button, it will activate the A/C button and blow cooled air, but I can not activate the A/C itself).

My questions are

1) Is it reasonbly simple to remove this faceplate from the front? If so.

2) Is there any reason why I couldn't replace and "remount" this faceplate myself?

Thanks!

It has an auto button, but it has the same problem (won't activate the A/C with auto set to on or off).

For that matter, the auto button will not light up either.
