Good morning again,

The R designates radial. They do not or should not make non radial tires anymore.

Use the 225/50R/17.

Are you replacing with new or do you have an issue?

The 225 is the width of the tire that hits the road way.

The 50 is the aspect ratio or the distance from the rim to the top of the tire.

17 is the rim diameter.

That is something you need to measure. I cannot see it from here.

With the tire removed, you measure the rim width with a measuring tape. It could be anywhere from five inches to nine inches.
