I put 4 new tires on car and two weeks later I noticed there was no tread on passenger side front tire and wires were showing. Tried to take it to replace tire and it blew out sending me sideways. Could a stuck caliper cause this?

Hi,

Was the tire bald evenly across the tire or was it on one of the edges? As far as the stuck caliper, it could if there was that much of a drag on the tire. However, you would have smelled the brakes getting hot. Did you notice anything like that?

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe

Hi,

If it was dragging enough to do something like this, I would think it would be heated up enough to cause an odor. Do me a favor. After driving it, walk around the vehicle and see if there is excessive heat coming from any of the wheels, specifically, the one that had the problem.

Let me know. Also, let me know if you feel alignment could be an issue. Usually, alignment will wear it on the inside or outside and not evenly. However, anything is possible.

Take care,

Joe

Well, when we fixed the blowout I noticed the ABS sensor almost coming off. It could be alignment but I am not sure.

Can you take a pic of the vehicle from the front so I can see the positioning of the tires? Also, you indicated the wheel speed sensor nearly came off. That doesn't indicate alignment issues. However, I'm questioning why it was like that.

Let me know.
