So I rebuilt my 302 used a eagle 347 stroker kit and pretty much used everything from the video you guys put on YouTube for the 302 build. The only difference I put a cam in. For a 302HO they say the firing order is different from a 302. The car did start but could not keep idle and it was firing on 1, 5, 4, 2, 6, 3, 7, 8? I was total to do the wiring to the cam fire and order of 1, 3, 7, 2, 6, 5, 4, 8. Now the car won’t fire up now, and it just backfires and blows fire out of the carburetor... The cam is a comp cam part number 35-226-3 magnum not. Do I have to redo the valves?

For a Comp Cams 35-226-3, the firing order is:

1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

But you might have the distributor installed incorrectly, please go over this guide to confirm

To see if the valve are correct lets check the compression:

Please upload a short video in your response of the problem, so I can see what's going on.
