Timing reassemble after head removal?

I am having trouble identifying top dead center to align the phase adjusters correctly to install the timing chain. I have a dowel in cylinder #1 but I need to know what direction should the crank key way be positioned to insure that I am installing the timing chain correctly.

Sure, I can help you: This engine is not an easy just put the chains on. There is a procedure, here is how to start.

Using the crankshaft holding tool, rotate the crankshaft clockwise until the keyway is at the 12 o'clock position.

Here are the rest of the instructions on how to align the timing marks for reassembly.
