Need to know the easiest way possible to change the timing belt and cover without removing the oil pan and without messing the timing up when putting the new one on?

Hello,

This vehicle is equipped with a timing chain and not a timing belt.

In order to replace the chain, you will have to remove the front engine cover as well as the oil pan. This is the way to replace timing chain on these 4.3L engines.

This will also require removing the crankshaft pulley and the water pump.

I have attached the replacement procedure including the timing marks below.

Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you.
