Timing belt replacement

Below are the steps and I will attach pictures for the repair.

This is an easy repair. You can do this yourself.

REMOVAL
1. Open and secure hood.
2. Install protective fender covers.
3. Loosen alternator assembly and remove bolts.
4. Drain cooling system.
5. Disconnect upper radiator hose and position aside.
6. Remove water pump pulley.
7. Remove crankshaft pulley.
8. Remove timing belt outer cover retaining bolt and cover.
9. Loosen belt tensioner pulley assembly.
10. Remove timing belt.

I have a 1992 Ford Ranger XLT 2.3L, and I just replaced a popped timing belt. When i backed off the rack and turned the wheel my truck made whirring noises that sounded like the power steering. It also did not accelerate properly and topped out around 40 mph. Anyway to narrow this down to a few, or just one problem? Thanks for any help.

p/s has to be checked for a leak.you also need to recheck the setting of the timing belt it sounds like it is to tight.

working on a 1991 ford ranger with a 2.3 liter engine. can find marks on cam shaft and also crank shaft, can also find timing mark on balance shaft sprocket. but can not find balance shaft mark on engine. do you have any idea where it might be located?

on illustration G91E15488 is notch in front cover casting is what i line up the line on the auxiliary shaft sprocket?

You need to put engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC and then align cam and crank to its markings

what do i align my auxiliary shaft sprocket to?

The engine from a 1992 Ford Explorer was put in my 1991 Ford Ranger and it is way out of time. How do I time the motor?
