Will not start after installing an HEI distributor

Put on new timing chain and upgrade to a HEI distributor had it on TDC on the 1 now it won't start.

Couple things, first can you get a video of the engine cranking?

Are you absolutely sure you had it on the compression stroke of number 1 when you installed the distributor?

If not, I would redo the timing by setting number 1 to TDC on the compression stroke and then remove the cap and make sure the rotor is pointing to number 1 plug tower on the cap.

If it is not, then you have the engine timed 180 out.

Then make sure the firing order is correct as I am attaching it below.

Make sure you have the plug wires in the correct orientation to the turning direction of the rotor. I think this engine goes counterclockwise.

Just turn the engine over with the cap off and make sure it is turning the direction you have the wires on the cap.

Let's start with this info and go from there.
