I want to clean the throttle body but there is a sticker saying do not spray throttle body because of a special coating. is there another method to do that?

Good afternoon.

I use brake kleen. You spray it on a rag and then wipe out the throttle body. takes a while but you do not want to take the coating off the inside of the throttle body as it will become a magnet for carbon.

You can buy special cleaner for the throttle body that is coating safe. Brake Kleen can easily damage the coating if you are not real careful. However, I would still use a rag to clean it as spraying any of the cleaners can lead to problems if they get into places they should not. Like the TPS or throttle control motor.
