In your video on changing the thermostat in a 2004 Ford Expedition [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKHnFY4WU8o] the procedure calls for "silicon rubber". I can't find a product by that name. Could you please clarify? Thanks

This is a silicone that hardens in about 30 minutes to create a water tight seal so you don't have a leak. It is like caulking that you use around your tub.

I put a picture of the one we show in the video. Also, I added the one Ford recommends that I have found works the best. This is called Ford Fluid TA-29 Ultra Silicone Sealant.

The other silicone you can get at home depot.

Either one you chose, you put it on the housing as shown in the video so that you seal the housing and don't have a leak.

Let me know if you still have questions. Thanks

Good evening,

They are referring to gasket sealer. You apply a small amount around the housing itself. I would get a tube of the gray sealer as it works the best.
