I see there is electrical plastic connector on top of thermostat switch, do they just pull off or is there a trick to getting off? Located next to thermostat.

It should pull off and only do that with engine cold and have switch ready so you only loose a little coolant.

The head bolts go through rockers, so they have to come off. See the picture for instructions.
