After my daughter drives about 20 minutes or so. It gets to 90 degrees in the daytime. Could this be ambient heat or is this a known sign of another issue and how do I tell?

The key heats up because of high resistance in the ignition switch which needs to be replaced.

Thanks for the answer. The car is very nice looking but it was not but with the finest quality heat or noise insulation. Probably designed by the same guy that designed the key. It seems to be a fairly decent car though for my daughter.
