Temperature rising after driving for fifteen minutes?

The temperature gauge starts a little under halfway but after about 15 minutes the gauge starts rising and the car starts hesitating.

Hi,

Does this happen at highway speeds or in stop and go traffic? How hot does the engine get? Have you checked the coolant level? If you haven't, start there.

Let me know. Also, let me know if you hear the cooling fans running when it gets hot, if it only happens in stop and go traffic, and anything you can think of.
