The past few weeks I’ve noticed when I’m in traffic or slow moving traffic the temperature gauge goes just over half way which it has never done before. But as soon as I start moving normal speed it goes back down? I topped up the coolant when it first started happening but it happened again last night it went two bars over half way then back down when I was at normal speed again.

Hello,

This shouldn't be anything to worry about. Does your engine cooling fans engage when the temperature gets to the point right before the gauge says it's about to overheat? As long as your cooling fans engage when they are supposed to and you have sufficient coolant in the cooling system everything should be fine. I would recommend doing a cooling system flush and fill on your vehicle, to clean out any debris and scale which could be hindering the performance of your vehicle's cooling system. Here is a link below for you to go to:

Please go through this guide and get back to us with what you are able to find out please.

Thanks,
