I have the truck listed above 1500 and when I hit 227,000 miles my transmission went out. We searched and searched and searched for a used transmission and finally found a 4wd 46RE that came out of a 5.9L. When installing we used my torque converter because the 5.9 wouldn’t allow the transmission to sit flush on the motor. All went back together and seemed fine. Upon driving we noticed it was having a hard time shifting and would gurgle if I had to slow down before I could finally shift. Read the codes and it popped for P0138, P0141, and P0740 (TCC Solenoid). Replaced the TCC, fluid, filter, everything, and code went away. Started driving perfect until the following day it would struggle to shift, gurgle if I couldn’t shift it in time, O/D would pop off and upon checking codes again it was only reading the O2 sensor codes. The truck runs fine until the transmission warms up and then the problems begin. We have tried everything including replacing wiring harness and are stumped at this point. Since replacing the TCC solenoid the code popped for it one time but went away a couple of hours later and never came back. What is my next move because this will be the third transmission in 2 months because I cannot get one to actually work properly? This one is actually shifting for the most part but struggling.

The gurgling noise that you are hearing is the fluid passages that have air in them.

Based on everything you have done; I suspect this is due to a leaking seal in the transmission. The giveaway for this is that it seems fine until it gets warm. This is normally due to the fluid heats up the seals and they start leaking when the unit it worn out.

The next step is to check the pressure of the unit.

I am attaching the entire process below on how to do this.

Thanks
