Most mechanics are not out to make a quick buck, walk in our shoes a few miles before being so judgemental. There are theives in all walks of life and in all occupations, it is not much different in auto repair than in any other situation.
Anyways, a tune up is an outdated term that is not universally understood.
There was a time that cars just plain never made it long in life and had a different set of circumstances than today's auto. There are severe and normal schedules put out by the maker, there are recommendations by repair facilities that go beyond this that vary among them. Maintenance is what should be performed on routine basis. 90,000 mile PM is a bigger list of maintenance on this one.
Other than repairs and oil changes, what maintenance have you done in the least 30,000 miles?
More importantly why do you seek doing a tune up?
Post back and I'll update what I would recommend.
