Hey Mate,

I saw your post abput the Suzuki Alto where there's clicking sound on ignition but the engine doesn't crank. I am facing the same issue. The ESP and engine malfunction signs (petrol valve logo) on the dash are blinking. The A/C, radio and horn work fine. The headlights do look a bit dim. My car wont start and then a bloke gave me a jump start and I somehow managed to get home. Now the car won't start. Could you please suggest how you solved the similar issue in your car?
I really hope you reply soon.
Cheers mate

Hello,

This sounds like the battery needs to be replaced or recharged. to be sure here is a load test guide and how to test the alternator as well. If the alternator is not charging it will allow the battery to lose charge.

Please run down these guides and report back.

Hi mate,

I had already swapped my battery last week. Having done that my car ran for a week and then it shut down again. The battery went flat. I went to the battery seller. We discovered that the alternator is not charging my battery.
My car used to make a squeaky noise when I start it, once the engine warms up it would stop.
Once I changed the battery, the noise had gone.
I am confused as the battery folks suggest me to replace or fix my alternator. This will be quite an expense.
Could you please suggest where to go from here?

Much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Shashwat.

Is the noise gone does the alternator charge okay? If so the battery could have shorted out causing the issue.
