I recently took off the knuckle on my car and had my mechanic press in a new wheel bearing. When I went to put everything back together, I couldn’t fit the caliper bracket over the rotor. I even removed the bracket from the piston, and it still won’t fit over. The strut bolts, axel nut, tire rod castle nut and lower control arm bolts are all torqued properly. Not sure what the issue is. Is the hub not pressed in all the way? Because I don’t have nearly enough clearance.

Did you depress the caliper? What happens is while the job is apart the caliper can fill with fluid closing the gap in between the brake pads.

Check out this video to show you how to reset the caliper:

If this is not the problem then the bearing is not installed correctly, this video will show the correct steps for doing the job:

Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
