My wife and I both own 2004 Subaru Outback's. Both cars have a vibration/wobbling of the blower fan when the is turned on. The vibration occurs on any of the fan speeds, but will often stop momentarily by switching the fan speed. Has anyone run into this issue before? How did you remedy the problem? I believe I need to replace the blower fan unit, is this a difficult job?

Thanks for the help.

The fan motor is replaced from the inside of the car. You will have to take out the glove box and trim. With limited space this is somewhat of a tight fit. Disconnect the negative side of the battery before proceeding to take out motor. Discinnect the electrical connection then there are three screws holding the motor in place. Once the screws are out then you will have to move a heater connection out of the way to get the motor out. Bench test it to see if its the motor or fan assembly. Sometime the fan will become loose.
