I tried to replace my cv joint, but I failed. I got the axle nut off and removed(i think) the outside tie rod. This released the rotor and brake assembly. I got the axle to slide back but not far enough. Do I need to drop the ball joint or take off the the strut in order to create more room? I also couldnt get the rotor off, should it be off? Also, how hard is it to change the a/c and alt belts. Thanks

You are going to have to remove the rotor, wheel bearing as a assembly, disconnect the bolts on it holding it to the strut and then disconnect the ball joint and hammer the cv out, dont hit the wheel wearing or anything else.

Then with a bit of prying the axle assembly should come right off.
