I had the fuel pump and filter replaced on a 1998 Subaru Legacy Outback. The car seems to run OK but there is a noticeable whirring sound that was not there before. The shop said this is normal but I have never heard this on any car that I have replaced the fuel pump in. Should I be concerned. Thx Les

the whirring sound is just the fuel pump operating properly. if it's extremely loud then there may be an issue, but if its just a slight whirring sound then it's OK
