I have a subaru Legacy Outback wagon it has a coolant smell coming out from the vents. My mechanic fixed it and had to change the timing belt and water pump in the process. The coolant smell is back and now there is a leak on the floor front passenger side. The mat as well as the floor is soaked. Why is that. What did he do wrong.

Hi there,

I feel that you have a faulty heater core, and a cooling system pressure test will prove this, it should be done warm and with the heater on, start here.
