Check engine light on 1998 Subaru 2.5 Outback Wagon

My check engine light keeps going on and the last time I had the codes read it was P0304 and P0235 which are the # 4 cyl. Misfire and the knock sensor. I repaced the plugs and wires and the light keeps coming on although it now goes off sometimes and only goes back on after a long drive. I looked at the Haynes manual and repacing the knock sensor looks difficult because the intake manifold has to be removed. Is there another way?
2nd question: the light is now off and I have been only driving to work (5 miles) and I need to get a Massachusetts inspection sticker. How many cycles with the light off are needed to pass?

My bet is that its the coil itself
when a coils bad it can cause all sorts of problems i/e
misfire, upsetting idle etc etc

i'm unsure what coil you've got on your car but it will most likely look like an h

if you wan to email me what type yours is carlisa123@gmail. Com & i'll advise you from there

as for the knock sensor if its the same as the impreza all you have to do is remove the intercooler from the back of the motor disconnect knock sensor & then remove. Installation is the same but in reverse
