Hello, I've recently moved to a new city and I don't have a mechanic that I trust yet and I don't want to lose my savings going to a dealership.I'm not great with cars but I can follow directions very well. My car has been idling low (around 500-600 rpm) I've only owned the car for a year and I've never had any major work done on it, just oil/lube changes etc. Also, the steering wheel gets very stiff when turning it all the way to the left. Any help someone could give me on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Brian

Within the year is there any type of tune-up done it? if not I suggest you do so.

Might want to check the idle air control valve solenoid located on the throttle body see below
