I have a 1994 subaru legacy It will not start. It gets spark And gets fuel I replaced the coil, plugs Ignitor box on the firewall the computer checked all fuses and grounds but it still will not run Has 150psi of compression in each cylinder its " supose" to be in time according to a mechanic I took it to. How ever it will not fire over and sometimes cranking it, it will kick backwards The car will not run off of starting fluid ethier. I can not figure this one out. And after I try starting it. With the key ON the cooling fan seems to cycle along with the fuel pump in a high to low hum with some verious clicking noises under nieth the dash board and hood Please help I dont know what to do. The motor is a 2.2 non turbo 4cly

Starting fluid and it has spark might not start but atleast to combust nothing. Double check for spark again if its still there. Check your valve and ignition timing-

If its a distributor system-remove the distributor cap and crank engine over is the rotor turning? If so check the later part above. Could mean jumped timing.

I have a 1994 2.2 Turbo Legacy that has the same condition. I just replaced the head gaskets. The engine ran fine before I replaced them, and still started easily. Now the thing doesn't even try to start. There is spark, there is compression and there is fuel - the damn thing floods out right away. The injectors are pulsing, and not stuck on. I have removed and replaced the fuel with new. I am a seasoned mechanic and I have checked all the timing and wiring. I have replaced the cam and crank sensors. The thing just refuses to ignite, even with starting fluid.
