I was driving on a parking lot the car shutdown. After a few hard times it finally turned on but it was very slow taking off, it felt like is was slipping so a put it on park then back to drive, again same thing. I put it on manual drive then I saw it was on fifth gear I have read a few posts about this problem related to the cam sensors but I don't get a code on the SES. I have reset the ECM (unplug battery waited for an hour and plug) that fixed for a while, but it did it again. Any help would be nice. Thank you in advance.

You are correct that if this were a cam sensor issue you should have a code. The fact that you did not we should move on from this for now. The fact that resetting the ECM did not correct this is not conclusive. Did you unplug the ECM or the TCM? The TCM (transmission control module) is what actually electronically controls the transmission.

I am not suggesting the resetting this will fix it but I just want to make sure we are on the same page before we move on. Thanks

I disconnected the battery and then unplugged the ECM harness from the unit. Where is the TCM located and the procedure to reset it? Thanks

See the attached. It should be right next to the ECM in the glove box. There is not official way to reset it without a scan tool. The easiest way to reset all the models is to disconnect the battery and touch the cables together off the battery. Then leave them off for about 10 minutes and that will be like a hard reset that you would do on your phone. It will force the modules to reboot.
