Strange brake noise and the brakes are not stopping properly?

Hello. I am Jacqeline Meera, and I bought the vehicle listed above a week ago. Everything seems to be fine until the 2nd week. The car is making a strange GRRRRRR sound when I brake. I went for a checkup, and it seems that they didn't find anything wrong. Now the GRRRRRR sound is louder, and my car is barely stopping. I had to keep pumping the brake pedal then it eventually stopped. Can you help me please?

Hello Jacqeline,

To me it sounds like the ABS system is kicking in. Can I ask if the ABS light is on at any time? Also, does the noise correspond with a feeling at the brake pedal? You could have a defective ABS wheel speed sensor that is making the ABS kick on. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response.
