Code P0740, still no reverse after changing solenoids

Signs at first pointed to the transmission. We got the code P0740. We lost reverse. No issues with going forward and no slamming of the gears. Even when pressing on the gas, no revving, no hard jerk changing the gear -nothing. We checked the fluids, changed it. We changed all the solenoids, some of them were clogged badly. Once we did that, we still didn't have reverse, but the difference is when we put it in reverse and put gas to it, it revved up. Any other ideas on what it could possibly be?

If this is the only code that you have then I suspect, we have larger internal issues if you have no reverse.

So, let's run through the testing shown below. Basically, we need to start by checking the fluid and pressure.

So here is a guide that will help with this:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-check-and-add-transmission-fluid

I am attaching the testing and the process to check the line pressure because that is going to be needed in order to determine what the issue is.

Basically, I suspect we have a cut seal in the reverse circuit so let's start with checking this info and we can go from there.

Thanks

Thank you very much. That code went away but now we have this code: P1751.

Okay. That is actually not a good thing. The most common correction for this code is a transmission replacement. However, I attached the info below for this code. You will see it is pretty short. Replace the shift solenoid valve B and the AT clutch pressure control valves A and B and if that code resets, replace the transmission.

Please see the info attached and let me know what you find.

Thanks
