I assume you have seen this before. When you turn the steering wheel whether parked or while moving there is a rubbing sound which sounds like around the coils. I have seen it in other US made vehicles.

Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so I can hear the noise? That way I can tell for sure what's going on. You can upload it here with your response. We need to hear the noise, so we know which direction to go to help you fix the car. It takes time to upload so please be patient.

Will be hard to hear, more felt than heard. I wish I could remember what SUV I had that did the same, I think a Ford Edge, sounds like the wheel is turning but the spring is hung on and not moving with the strut. Heard it many cars before just never knew what the issue is.

There is a TSB on that problem which requires the removal of the steering column, cutting away a portion of rubber, lubricating it, and reinstalling it.

Ugh, turned out just a bit low on power steering fluid which is under the right-side fender liner.
