If my steering is locked because the car is off and I (by mistake) turn the locked wheel with my leg, would that hurt the steering?

I moved it along a locked streering wheel when the car was off and thus the wheel was locked (but slightly moveable.) Does that make sense?

YES

TO SIMPLIFY MY EXPLANATION, I'LL EXPLAIN THIS IN A TYPICAL WAY

IN YOUR STEERING COLUMN THERE IS LIKE A COLLAR OR DISC WITH SLOTS CUT IN IT. WHEN IT IS ACTUALLY COMPLETELY LOCKED A PIN IS DROPPED INTO ONE OF THE SLOTS

IF YOU HAPPEN TO LOCK IT BETWEEN THE SLOTS, IT'S REALLY LOCKED, BECAUSE IF YOU MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL EITHER WAY, THE PIN WILL DROP INTO A SLOT. THEN THE "LITTLE BIT" OF FREE MOVEMENT CEASES.

I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA TELL ME YOU KICKED IT WITH SUPER-HUMAN FORCE TO ATTEMPT TO UNLOCK IT! LOL!

DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOUR SITUATION?

It was just a simple movement to the point of where it was locked. I just rubbed up against it. Little strength and it stopped at the locked position. I didn't use super human strength. Do you think I should be okay?

Your cars look great but I asked a serious question. Will rubbing your leg lightly against a locked steering wheel cause any trouble?
