Hi,

So just so I understand, the engine doesn't start with the remote start feature but it does start normally?

If just the remote start feature does not work, this could be a number of things that are preventing the start. It could be the hood ajar switch or a door switch. There are a number of other things that could prevent the remote start but if the vehicle won't start with the ignition either, then yes, it could be the starter.

Maybe getting a video of what is happening would help clear up what is happening.

Hi, no it doesn't start either way? I'll check doors etc, to see if they are open. A friend said might be battery? But we shall see. I will let you know thank you kindly for input. If its starter I didn't get any warning signs like stalling. Is that normal?

If it doesn't start using the key then all of those issues are not your issue. Those would only prevent the remote start operation.

If the starter failed then that will not cause any issues like stalling. The only thing it will do is cause a no start. The starter is only used while the engine is cranking.

Here is a guide that will help explain what the starter is used for and what happens if it is not working:
