Noise when starting and blinking battery light

So my car started and sounded like a sewing machine and the battery light on the dash started blinking. so I shut it off and back on it was fine. but why is it doing that? I think the starter is sticking on.

Hello, I'm Danny,

When it comes to car noises what we ask you to do is make a video with your cell phone and upload it here. This way we have a better idea of the sound and can better diagnose. If you can do that we would appreciate it. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
