Well when I get in my car and start it up and I go in the house to grab a few things before I leave to go to work. All of a sudden I hear this screeching sound so I go turn it off. Then I start my car again and all is good but then it sounds as though the key is being turn over to be starter again when the car is already running! Please help me so I can tell my husband and then he will know better of what he has to do !

Thank you!
Tammy

There is a possibility the starter relay is stuck resulting in power supply to the starter not being cut off when ignition key is released. Another possibility is theat the ignition switch is bad and is stuck in the start position even though the key has been released. Do not keep the engine running as it can result in the starter getting damaged beyond repairs.
