A friend of mine purchased the van listed above used. It is in very good shape as far as the vehicle is concerned. He had me do a tune up on it and look it over. After I did the regular stuff about a week later it started stalling and taking off slow. I researched the vehicle and found that the EGR was a big problem with these. I replaced the valve (which was really in good shape, )but it is electric so you never know. The o2 sensor codes came after that, replaced those. They were running lean so after this we decided to check the fuel pump. Since this one did not have a pressure valve to check the pressure we dropped the tank and pulled the pump. Looked at the screen and there was like rubber shavings inside the cover of the pump. We replaced the pump. No help it does this mainly when gas is added to it. So I researched and found the problem could also be the vapor canister getting liquid in it because of a faulty liquid/vapor valve made into the tank and is non replaceable, except the complete tank. I have ordered a vapor canister and control valve for it. These parts are not here yet. Yesterday it cut off on his wife, but started right back up and ran fine. He then went out to use it to go to the store and it started off running very rough. He shut it off so I could see how it does, but it started and ran fine. I have been on test drives with them and by myself with no acting up. No codes in it since I replaced the o2 sensors. But it did have small EVAP leak code at one time. Any thing else you guys can think of would really help.

Hello,

The first thing that comes to mind is the crankshaft angle sensor. Even when this sensor fails the computer cannot tell there is a problem. It is difficult to test these sensors without an oscilloscope while in driving conditions.

It would be best that when the engine stalls or doesn't start if you can see if the spark or fuel injector pulse fails. Also these vans had a problem with the ASD relay.

Here is the location of the relay and a guide to test it

Please run some tests and get back to us so we can continue helping you.

Best, Ken
