Stalled at 55 MPH, transmission will not shift out of second gear

At highway speed, vehicle stalled with hard stop of drice tires. Continued on to get off road, engine runs fine but it won't shift out of second gear. Also, no power to test port or power locks. Door chime is not working either. Scrap yard transmission with less than 10,000 miles on it. Test port will not power on the scan tool, so no codes.

Hi,

I need you to start by checking fuse 5 in the under hood fuse/relay box. If you look at pic 1 below, I highlighted the fuse I'm referring to.

In addition to checking the fuse, confirm there is power to and from it. This fuse powers the data link connector along with several other components. We need to get the DLC working so you can scan the computer. Keep in mind, if the fuse is blown, it could be the cause of the problem. If you look at pic 2, it shows what is powered by the fuse.

Hi,

If you have no power to fuse 5, then chances are you have a blown fusible link. If you look at the attached pics below. They show the power distribution. Pic 1 shows fusible link 6 and if you follow the highlighted wire, it leads you to fuse 5. So if you don't have power at fuse 5, that is the first thing to check.

Check the fusible link and let me know what you find.

Hi,

Do you mean power to the fusible link or the fuse 5? If you are referring to the fusible link, there is a problem in that box. It should have power at all times. Are you sure all connections at the battery are tight, clean, and free of corrosion?

The fuse. I just replaced the negative cable after this happened. I have power, just not to the circuit with the data port.

Okay. Is there power from the fusible link? If there is but fuse 5 doesn't get power, the wire is open or we simply have a connection issue.

Am I correct in assuming the fusible link is supplying power? Did it check good?
