Hi,

I don't see any codes related to this.
But my OBD II scanner does not cover SRS (air bag) systems. Maybe that is why I don't get code?
Possible bad clock spring?

Thanks

Hi,

Certainly, it could be a faulty clock spring, but there are sensors that can fail as well. I believe I just answered a question related to the advance trac for this vehicle and suggested having the can-bus scanned. It's the same for this.

In the event this is a different vehicle, CAN stands for controller area network. Basically, the different computers/modules are tied together via a few wires. This type of scan will retrieve codes regardless of the module storing them.

Here is a link that explains how it's done:

This is what is recommended. If possible, do this and let me know what codes are retrieved.

Let me know.

I was going to buy this Autel ML629 scanner.
But I don't see any mention of CAN.
Does it have an alternate name?

Hi,

That one can read more codes, but I don't see anything about reading the system. I attached a pic below from Amazon showing what to look for.

Please keep in mind, I am not recommending the scanners in the picture. I am not familiar with any of them.
