I took the balancer off to replace the oil seal and find out what was squealing. There appears to be a disk of some kind spinning behind the cover. It looks like it is held on by some kind of a pin. I'm trying to find out what it is and how to replace it.

Good morning,

Behind the balancer is the oil slinger. That gets tightened against the timing gears and the balancer. When the engine runs, it will sling oil all over the chain and components.

Can you upload a video of the noise or a picture of what you see?
