When driving with the van on open road the vehicle sort of switches off with all the dash board lights coming on for plus minus 2 to three seconds. Then all is okay again except for the traction control lights which will staying on. This happens every few km while what is diagnose is a code P0685. Can that be the power train relay causing that and if so were can I locate it?

Many thanks

William

Hello,

Yep, this will cause the engine to stop running. I would replace the relay. here is the location in the diagrams below with a guide to help test it:

here are the fuse panel and relay locations .Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

HI Ken
Many thanks for the prompt reply. I did replace relay K40/9k7 but it is still doing it. What I found is that when you drive on a straight road it does not do it but as soon as you go on a slight up hill or down hill and you accelerate that is when it happens.
Can there be any other relays involved?

It sounds like it could be a wiring problem while the engine is running try to move the wiring harness around to see if the engine will respond by stalling out. I think we might have a short. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on, that would be great. You can upload it here with your response.
