I have replaced (with used part) the VSS twice, also the short harness to sensor, the output speed sensor, and the cluster, plus checked all of the fuses.

Nothing fixed the problem. The only thing I can think of that may be the problem is the vehicle has an aftermarket Alarm, lock/unlock, and remote start unit wired into it but that shouldn't effect the speedometer.

The cruise control works, every other gauge works, just no speedometer/odometer.

I am a very small dealer I bought this at auction with supposedly 79,000 miles on it - it is very clean. But not sure how long this has been a problem.

The gear on VSS sensor looked good on all of them, the one in the vehicle was stuck so we ended up breaking it to get it out.

need help bad on this one. I was a Hyundai Service manager 20 years ago but don't have a good scan tool to talk to it - I am "sure" the VSS and output sensor is working because the cruise works.

No check engine light either.

I am interested in finding out about where pin C270 is I guess.

9 times out of 10 it will be the cluster FYI. You can try unplugging it and then plug it in again, sometimes a bad connection at the cluster will cause this issue. I would look for a uses unit from eBay and plug it in, it should fix the problem. A CAN scan should help confirm the issue.
