Speedometer does not always work

It works sometimes and sometimes it does not work. I bought the car with 18' wheels I did change the speed sensor, but the speedometer does not work. I have a check engine light that the shop told me is the speed sensor in the transmission. What do I do?

If there is a code for the speed sensor, either the sensor is faulty or there is a wiring problem from the sensor to the PCM, you will have to investigate both of these and make sure that the sensor plug is tight and secure.
