2007 BMW 530i Mileage: 8,000 When I am driving at night sometimes I like to turn off the I drive display system. The screen never turns off, it shows up grey with a little bit of blue around the edges. Is there anyway to really turn the screen off? I don't have navigation on my car and I really don't need the distraction of the LCD.

Even when off, the BMW LCD's don't show black very well, it translates into a deep grey instead. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do.

That's a common question asked by a lot of people about the LCD's. Its just the way BMW LCD screens are, "deep grey" color meeans your I-drive screen is off.
