Connector clip is broken and there are pig tail connectors available. Can you splice the wires into the harness? Or do you have to remove the existing wires from the broken connector, remove the pig tail from the new connector and insert the wires into the new connector?

Maybe take a picture of the broken connector and the new pigtail that you have because I am not sure I follow what you are trying to do.

If you have a broken connector and have a replacement connector with pigtail wires, then you would just cut the wires about 2 inches back from the broken connector and solder the pigtail onto the harness wires that you just cut.

Let me know if I am missing something but if I understand correctly then yes you can splice the new connector on. Just do not use butt connectors or just twist the wires. You need to solder them and shrink wrap the connections to ensure it is done properly.
