My car does not have a spare tire when I bought the vehicle used and my tires are regular, I just recently bought my car. My question is, if I were to purchase a donut tire as a spare, would this donut tire fit inside the trunk while the convertible top is down inside the trunk also? If so is there a special clamp or anything to buy to keep the spare tire secured in place?

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros.

Many of these vehicles did not come from the factory with a spare tire, but rather a compressor. However, and you have to check this, when the trunk is open, there should be a location at closest to the bumper which will fit a spare vertically. If that spot is in your vehicle, you should be okay. If it isn't there won't be enough room. What they expect is the consumer to either blow up a tire with a compressor which is useless if the tires is damaged too badly or use run-flat tires.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe

Thank you, I will check to see if my vehicle has a spot to place the spare tire vertically, I believe it does.

Happy to help. If it does have the place, you should be fine. Just make sure you use the correct size space saver tire.

Have a good new year,

Joe

Just to add to it, they do not come with a spare tire. Your vehicle came equipped with run flat tires. The tires are very expensive so have seen people just install regular tires but in case of a flat, you would need to call a tow truck to pick up the vehicle.
