Slow acceleration speeds

Driving on hwy at 70 mph while trying to pass other cars press on accelerator but speed increased very slowly.

Good afternoon,

I would start by checking the fuel pressure to be sure enough fuel is being delivered.

Also, the catalytic converters could be clogged. They need to be checked for back pressure while the engine is running.

Thank you for a reply to my question. I have some more information for you. While I was driving my check engine light came on and shortly after went back off. When I got home I retrieved the code with my scanner, it was a code 44-lean fuel. It came on while I was attempting to accelerate. I do not have a catalytic converter it was cut out years ago, is it wise to change my transmission filter? I have had the fluid changed with a transmission fluid machine.

Lean tells me it could be fuel delivery. You need to check the pressure.
Yes, change the oil/filter in the transmission.
