Since MOT no central locking or lock doors, tailgate button does not work and flashers very quick(both) good bulbs, fuse okay and emergency hazard work fine. Please help. Garage said it would cost more to diagnose than car

This sounds like the smart junction box went out which is common. Here is instruction on how to change it out. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on? That would be great. You can upload it here with your response. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.

Can I replace the smart junction box using a used one or does it have to be programmed to the car? The right front blinker quit working and all others still work. Can the smart junction box be fixed?

I switched the bulb and socket from the other side, checked all the fuses, and when I ran out of ideas took it to a mechanic and confirmed it

Hello,

Here is a location and the diagram on how to change the smart junction box which go out (below) It will self initialize so you should not need to have it programmed. Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed. Cheers, Ken

Hello Ken.
Thank you for the good information.
I have to replace my SJB on my 2006 Ford Fusion SEL.
I can't find one anywhere online.
Do companies repair them?
Or would you know of 1 that's for sale?

Thanks very much.

There are companies that rebuild them and I would just suggest performing an internet search looking for some of them because I did a quick search and found a few but one on a popular online auction site.

We don't recommend any site over the other so you do have options out there but it appears they are all re manufactured. I was not able to find any that are new.

Hopefully this information helps. The best way to find one is pull the part number off the one that is in your vehicle (there should be a tag with it on it) and just search for that number. It should pull up all that are available.

Thanks very much for the info.
I'm going to get the part number tomorrow.
One question.
Under the steering wheel, I have to remove that panel to get to the SJB.
I took off the top by popping it. Easy.
But the bottom wouldn't budge.
Is it just a pop off also?
Didn't want to break something.

Thanks again.

I have looked and it doesn't have a process for taking this panel off. However, from what I remember there are some bolts/nuts that hold that one on.

If you want to get some pictures of it, it may help me remember exactly where they are. Thanks

I had the right front signal light stay on and got the signal failure message on the display. Read up and found it’s a faulty SJB (smart junction box). I got a used one at an auto parts recycler. After I installed it, I get door ajar messages and the car won’t shift out of park.

Good evening,

Can you post the part number from your old block and the part number from the new one? Good chance you either have the wrong one installed or the junkyard unit is no good. Here are instructions below. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Thank you.

This module needs to be programmed to work correctly. I contains all the information for the car based on your VIN number. Right now, it has another VIN number in it from the donor car.

You will need to have some program it for you so everything works.
