I have electronic shocks.
I have to replace them. Electronic shocks are expensive. Can I replace them with gas shocks.

Hi,

You can replace them with regular shocks but more than likely you will have a check engine light. Basically, the computer is reading road force to determine the amount of resistance the shock should have to ensure a smooth ride.

The best way to determine if you are going to have an issue, is just unplug the shocks and turn the engine on. If the light comes on, then you know what will happen if you don't install the compatible shocks back in because this connector will remain unplugged.

Here is the process for replacing it. Clearly, if you decide to use a regular shock, you will not need to plug it back in but all else will be the same. If this is the case, you will want to ensure you wrap, secure, and protect the connector that will be left off.

Let me know if you need more info. Thanks
